Marshall- Harrison County Health District is inviting families in Marshall and Harrison County to attend the second class of the new community wellness initiative, Building Healthy Futures. This no-cost nutrition class, “Fueling Growing Bodies: Nutrition for Kids,” is designed to support parents and caregivers in understanding how to nourish children’s growing bodies with practical, affordable, and family-friendly nutrition strategies.

Hosted in partnership with our local WIC office, the class will focus on meeting the nutritional needs of infants, toddlers, and school-age children using everyday foods. Topics include building balanced meals, healthy snacks, picky eating, portion sizes, and creating positive mealtime routines.

“Our goal with the Building Healthy Futures Wellness Series is to connect families with trusted information and practical tools that support long-term health,” said Jennifer Hancock, MHCHD Executive Director. “This class empowers caregivers with simple, realistic strategies they can use immediately to support their children’s growth and development.”

The class is open to the public, with a special focus on families with young children. No prior nutrition knowledge is required.
