Marshall-Harrison County Health District provides condoms free of charge during regular office hours. Throughout the year, individuals can stop by the front desk and ask for condoms or a “brown bag” with no questions asked. In celebration of the upcoming Valentine’s Day holiday, MHCHD is offering a “brown bag special.” From now until Valentine’s Day, anyone receiving condoms will also receive a free bag of chocolate candy for themselves or their special Valentine.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), “correctly using male condoms and other barriers like female condoms and dental dams, every time, can reduce (though not eliminate) the risk of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).” Each bag includes a variety of male condoms in an assortment of sizes, lubricant, as well as educational materials.

Jennifer Hancock, MHCHD Executive Director, explains that condoms are provided free of charge as a means of reducing any obstacles in obtaining protection to help decrease our STD rates in Harrison County.
